The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their sessions, I get asked all kinds of questions. So I wanted to compile a list of my 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me!
Do you share my images?
My number 1 priority is making sure my clients are comfortable, especially with boudoir! It can be a life changing experience, but that also makes it nerve wracking! Sometimes you are learning how to love your body and you aren’t quite ready to share the images with the world, or sometimes these photos are specifically for your spouse. These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos, and it all depends on your personal preferences! If there are photos that I would like to share, I will ask your permission first, and only share what you are comfortable with!
Do I have to wear lingerie?
You don’t have to wear lingerie at all! There are so many outfit options, and you will be surprised that you can find things to wear that are already in your closet. Wear what makes you feel most comfortable and beautiful in. I want these boudoir images to be a reflection of your true self and I want you to wear YOU — If you are a jean and T-shirt kind of girl, let’s shoot with some of those outfits. If you love fashion statement dresses, let’s do it! Overalls and shorts? Absolutely!!! I also have a few outfits in my client closet that you can choose from.
Do you have payment plans?
I offer a few payment options! There is a booking fee that includes the shoot, hair and make up, in order for me to add you to my calendar. At the reveal, you will choose your favorite images and then you will purchase the collection of your choice. You can pay in full right then, or you can opt to pay in increments.
Is hair and makeup included?
Hair and makeup is included in all of my boudoir shoots! I think it’s really important for you to feel pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that! My amazing team can help you complete your look, whether that’s “I just woke up like this” or full on glam! You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup and we can try to use it for inspiration!
Do you Photoshop my images?
I do edit your images for light, exposure and color balance. I do NOT however edit anything “out” that is permanent! I think it can be damaging to have a boudoir session done, and thenn edit out parts of yourself that make you who you are! Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping out parts of yourself you don’t like. If there are parts of yourself that you are learning to love and aren’t thrilled about, that is okay! I help you pose and with the use of lighting, we can absolutely bring out and make you look your best!
Where should I buy outfits?
There are a few places to buy outfits from and it dependson what you are getting and the style of your shoot! Here is a list to choose from – Victoria’s Secret, Forever21, Adoreme.com, Torrid, eberjay.com, Aerie, foreveryourslingerie.ca, hipsandcurves.com, jasminestaceycollection.co, Anna Bella Fine Lingerie, Livirae Lingerie. Also, your closet already has many outfit potentials that you can throw together, and you will be surprised of how amazing it will come out!
What type of print products do you have?
I offer a variety of albums with matching couture or glass boxes with prints in them. The album covers come in a variety of colors, and leather styles. It can also be in a journal style album. I absolutely love the feel of picking up a physical print, it’s so surreal to see yourself like that! I also offer matted or glossy prints in presentation boxes, acrylic blocs for table display and metal prints to hang on walls. You will get a variety of these products depending on the photo collection package that you choose. I have 3 package collections to choose from and we will go over that in detail once you decide to book a shoot with me.
Do you offer digitals?
All of my photo collections that you purchase will come with digital files.
I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Nerves are all part of the experience! I always say that it would probably be weird if you weren’t nervous. The nervousness in the beginning of your shoot make your moment of “WOW” seeing your photos for the first time so much better!
How many outfits should I bring?
I suggest bringing 3 to 4 outfits. If you cannot decide what to bring, go ahead and bring as many of your favorites as you want, and we will pick and choose together. Also bring high heeled shoes or boots/platforms, depending on your outfit choices, and as much accessories as you’d like!
Should I get to my shoot early?
You should always plan on getting to your shoot about 10 minutes early so we can talk about your outfits and colors and make a plan for hair and makeup.
Where is your studio located?
My studio is in Acworth, GA. I will give you more details and directions once you book your shoot.
